Lush Texture

I’m not sure how well the texture shows up in this photo, but there is a lot of texture on the page. I used handmade textured papers to see how they work with charcoal and figure drawing. I am now obsessed with the circles handmade textured paper, and I’m going to make loads tomorrow.

The figure is not finished, although I might not do more to this page because it’s 160gsm sketchbook paper and I am not sure how much more it will take.

The charcoal is layered with clear and white gesso, building up layers and leaving most of the mark making in the story.

I hope you can get an idea of the texture, because it’s lush.
