Melancholy Boy on Red

My To Do List was extensive today, my own doing because I’ve decided at the last minute to go off gallivantin the morn, so organising that took precedent. I did not attempt the last pass of my large portrait because that requires time to meander, and I didn’t want to ruin it. So a quick portrait in my A3 portrait sketchbook, mostly using up paint on my gel plate palette.

I don’t know if I have mentioned my latest version of a stay-wet palette for acrylics – I use my gel plate as a palette, and if there’s paint I want to keep til the next day, I pop it in a box with a clip lid, and it saves perfectly. A wee spray of water for luck is enough. If I’m not keeping the paint, I roll it around with a brayer and pull it off as a wonky print.

Adventures beckon.

Til the morn,

Suzanne

What an excellent idea for a stay-wet palette!
