I had a fun day in the studio today. I spent around an hour working in my mark making sketchbook while on a Zoom meeting with some other artists. I filled three sketchbook spreads with a variety of marks and I have some interesting ideas for taking things a bit further.
I was colour-mixing after that, and it was a lot more in my zone than yesterday’s experiment. I used the paint I mixed to paint the toes above. This is my first go with this pose, and I am enjoying the fact I have done so much practise that I can get to somewhere I’m happy on the first go nowadays.
Coming back into the studio this morning, I was faced with yesterday’s painting, and I did find I liked the colours more than yesterday. Sometimes I just have to sleep on it before I decide I like something.
