Sketchbook painting using one of my photos of Elphin the taxidermy badger that I took at the wee sketching group event a few weeks ago. I’m playing with colour, and using turquoise as the almost mother colour because, like the badger, I am a creature of habit.
I was using one of my gel plates as a palette, which is a habit I am developing, and you can get some nice pulls using up the paint from a painting session by smoothing them out with the brayer and pulling them. This led to making a few prints which I am probably going to use to cover the sketchbook I made yesterday.

With these I was playing around with using zinc white acrylic because it has more transparency, and I like the effect it gives here.
I’m sat near the window watching the birds and wondering why I’ve got a yella yitie (yellowhammer) in the garden. We usually only get them when there’s snow, which is very rare these days. And it’s June. Beautiful little bird.
Til the morn,
