This painting was brought into existence while my internal dialogue was processing the fact that the PSNI are firing plastic bullets on the streets of Belfast as the UK Defence Secretary resigns, giving further credence to the theory that the we are being governed by a zombie Prime Minister.
The race riots, terrorism actually, is being perpetrated by Loyalists, which is being inflamed by the US far-right. It’s like a throwback to the last century, but the dial has flipped on who the police are aiming at, and we have the added US tech bro fascism element.
It isn’t just Belfast, though, although it has continued there longer than other places, but violence also took place in Glasgow, and that was also related to Loyalism.
I was also painting while swearing about other tech enshittification of everything. On the plus side, the AI shite that was forced on my blog back-end appears to have been removed, that’s the positive. My Fitbit tracker is now a Google Health tracker, and the new app launched a few days ago, and ever since then the stupid AI stuffed app has been draining my device charge, and now the device is tracking nothing at all. The app wants me to link my phone for accurate step counting, and what I am going to do is unlink myself from the entire operation, cancel the subscription, and buy an analog step tracker. Google Useless.
This is what was going on in my head as I turned a blank page into this painting. There was more, but the TLDR version is that I don’t have a very high opinion of a lot of things right now, and tech seems to be at the heart of it all.
