The stash of new brushes on the right are to expand my oil painting brush collection, which is kind of a commitment to doing more oil painting. I don’t usually post new supplies pics, but look at the the tiny oil paper block I ordered, it’s so cute!
I’m aware that I do things like decide I’m going to go big with painting, and then get obsessed with tiny paintings. I don’t know why. Then I buy a stash of oil painting brushes, and on the day they arrive, I start the portrait on the left in acrylics. I don’t know why.
The portrait is ten minutes of blocking in the basic shape, and I love that my daily practise has resulted in me being able to rock up a feasible head in less than ten minutes. The practise really does pay off, even the days where you have to climb a mountain to get there.
