I finished this portrait in my A3 portrait practise sketchbook. I started her yesterday, and I wasn’t really liking the way she was going, but I came back to her today and brought her to a conclusion. A Cassandra for our times. No-one will listen to her.
When I moved onto the second canvas, which I started a few days back, I found it really interesting to be moving from realism to slightly abstract. I specifically drew this figure in a slightly abstracted way, and as I was putting down some paint to see what colours I want to go with, I had to check myself for trying to correct the lines and bring them back to the reference. If nothing else, that’s good for the brain.
Til the morn,
