All Fingers And Pose

Cobalt blue and caput mortuum make a satisfying mix for this luscious pose in my continued season of hands studies. Dinoopis is on hiatus at the moment, but she is my favourite muse, and creates the most interesting figure references.

This is in my A3 sketchbook, with acrylic sludge as the ground, which I am really enjoying. I’ve made a mix of some of the sludge and white gesso, to give it a bit of tooth, but this was painted just on the sledge and it was fine. The sludge is re-harvested acrylic paint, and the company batch it up in pots and sell it as grounds and gesso so as to prevent waste.

Another postcard from the sketchbook is this..

My comfort zone of shitty brush and caput mortuum.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
