Figuring It Out

I spent some time looking over all the work I have done on this hands studies and figure with hands project as I felt like I was a bit stuck. I made some notes about things that I liked from all the different approaches, and things that I didn’t like, and tried to figure out what was in the way of me getting where I want this to go.

It was really helpful, and gave me a different perspective on what was happening on my pages versus what I was wanting to happen. This happened just at the point I was considering just resting the project and moving onto something else, which was a consideration that was frustrating me.

I have lost count of the number of pages I’ve made, but this one is the one that came after my notes and mini revelation, and I am much more happy with the proportions and placement and exaggeration in this one. It’s not perfect, but it it’s definitely closer.

It was also fun getting messy with lots of mixed media. There’s acrylic inks, watercolour pencil, soft pastel and coloured pencil, so I’m still ticking my box of using lots of things I forget to use a lot of the time.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
