I am having a lot of fun with this one, not least because whatever perimenopause shite is going on with my hip/knee combo seems to be easing, and I’ve been able to stand for longer periods of time. Yay.
This is two more sessions from the last time I posted. The first session involved a very delicious red Sennelier soft pastel, which I also managed to trail through the house on the sole of my sock, and I can definitely vouch for the high pigment claim that goes along with these delicious pastels.
Ooops.
I sealed the layers with workable fixative, and there were some lovely drips, but today most of those got hidden under a layer of soft pastels. I don’t get the pastels out often enough, and I love them. I’m not really planning this one out, it’s just layers of play, but I like seeing it evolve.
I counted up the remaining pages in my graphite portrait sketchbook, there were only three pages left to fill, and now there are only two. I think I’m going to start another sketchbook for 20 minute portraits, because it’s a practise I do really like.

Til the morn,
Suzanne
