Pyrrole Orange Hare

I have been trying to fall in love with this sketchbook but it just is not the same as either of the two cheap as chips unbranded ones I had in my stash that I filled and miss. It is not always the case that the better paper is the better paper, sometimes the cheap sketchbooks just feel right.

There’s nothing wrong with this one, I just haven’t moved in and made it home yet, and I keep acquiring other sketchbooks to try and find just the right one.

I put it through its paces today, tho, and it seems to have held up well enough to layers of paint and the ubiquitous Stabilo All and water spray for grungey drips. I don’t mind if the pages buckle and bloom, but I do mind if the paper pills, and this paper didn’t, so if I can get past the strange feel of the cover, we might be onto a journey together.

Yes, this is what I am like.

I think I am going to paint hares until the textural me is cured and ready for the last round. This one was looking a bit bland, with a very samey value mix until I threw in the straight pyrrole orange, and I love it.

If in doubt, throw a wild colour at it.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
