Batching Gesso

Most of my time today was spent priming canvases and other substrates as that’s about as much as I could muster while Storm Darragh blew everything around. Gesso on canvas isn’t very photogenic, so when the lull in the storm came, I did some more crow sketching in my A4 sketchbook.

I used a brown tempera stick and a payne’s grey Neocolor II crayon, and some water.

For Sheelagh I also have a peek in my studio room, with a pic taken from each end. It might be obvious, but I have a LOT of art/craft supplies, so it’s a very functional room, and not at all curated for the ‘gram. The various things that are on wheels means it’s easy to swirl things around if needs be.

Til the morn,

Suzanne

Love the crow and I’m SOOOOOOOOO jelly of your fabulous art space!! Thank you for sharing a picture of it. I’d think I’d died & gone to heaven if I had that many supplies. You are truly lucky!

I don’t know about lucky, or just a hoarder, as there’s stuff I’ve been collecting/hoarding for thirty odd years 😀

There’s an argument that I probably don’t need it all, but when I have pared down something, I’ve usually regretted it later. I once gave away a bunch of fabric that I still think about :/

It’s taken a long time to get the supplies and the room turned into a happy place lol
