Woman With Glasses

Catching up on Let’s Face It today with a class by Mika Denny. This is my third piece using pan pastels, so I’m not well-practised at all with this medium. I do like it tho.

I chose my own reference from Unsplash for this, more in keeping with my theme of women who aren’t amused. The shadows were a bit challenging for me with this medium, something to try again and practise.

I added in magenta, even though the class only uses black and white, because I hadn’t used my magenta pan pastel – I only have three.

She’s a bit wonky, and it was fun to be challenged on the sketching in with a different medium than any of the ones I am used to. Good to get the synapses firing.

A new class just landed today, so I think my running total of classes to complete is sixteen, which is a better figure than the total I had lodged in my brain lol.

Til the morn,

Suzanne

The pop of magenta is perfect! It sets the whole painting off and makes it seem more alive. She’s fabulous, even in her wonkiness. Love her. ✨❤️✨
