Today has been a LOT, and I may not sleep much lol.
I am very pleased to say that my portrait of Gisèle Pelicot will be part of the Scottish Society of Artists 126th Annual Exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh. My painting will be in the 30×30 small works section.
!!!
I saw the Open Call at the beginning of the month and decided to set myself a wee goal to submit something. There’s no selection process, but I had to join the society and fill out a submission form, and that felt quite significant.
Imposter syndrome had a massive party in my brain.
The painting was delivered to the gallery today, and even up to the moment it was accepted I was convinced it wasn’t going to be real. I’m still not. The exhibition opens next Saturday, 23rd November, and I’ve been creating all sorts of scenarios where my painting doesn’t make it into the exhibition. lol.

I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m doing it is my mantra for today.
If that wasn’t enough, someone on Bluesky has asked me if I do commissions, which I obviously won’t say No to, but I hadn’t really thought about such a thing, I’ve just been focusing on building my daily practise.
I managed to settle down for a short session of painting, so in the end I did paint today, in my sketchbook.

Does she look a bit stunned? That would a good word for how I am feeling.
You’re never too old to chase your dreams.
Til the morn,
Suzanne
