Today I have been working in my sketchbook doing multiple sketches of the same reference photo. I have mostly been using my trusty caput mortuum sketch blend, although I did do one sketch in graphite.
This is a Let’s Face It class, and the reference is the artist herself, so I’m setting myself the challenge of a good likeness, and I have been having fun trying out different brushes for my sketches. It’s good practise drawing the same subject multiple times, getting to know the nooks and crannies, and I enjoy the differences in each drawing.
The paper I have primed for the painting is twice the size of the sketchbook pages, so it will be a nice, good-sized head.
