I’m still obsessed with gel printing from orange bags, and obsessed in general with my little 3×5″ gel plate.
Aside from playing with that, and more work filling my little gel plate sketchbook, I made a face in my A4 book.
So many ways to make a face – realistic portraiture, or using a reference but not chasing a likeness, or just putting a medium to substrate and seeing what comes out.
They all work, and for me, I think the practise on realistic portraiture and likeness has definitely improved my invented faces, which is a nice thing to observe.

Another nice thing to observe was the Northern Lights last night. The aurora put on a show for hours that was so intense it was visible to the naked eye, and I even got some nice photos without leaving the town and light pollution.

Til the morn,
