Grey

I had some mars black left from something I was working on, so I mixed in some zinc white to make a non-chalky grey, and then tried some portrait practise with it. I used a different brush instead of my bristly ones, too see what I came up with.

I wasn’t a fan of the paint mix, tbh, it felt a bit sticky compared to my caput mortuum blend. He looks a bit grey with the paint, and the grey from the sludge gesso, but nae bad. Another odd expression reference that I might try again to see if I can improve my interpretation.
