I had a really good day in my studio room today, a really fun day, despite everything going on out there.
One of the things I did was revisit this drawing from earlier in the year. I love this reference, and I love my drawing, and I have never felt the urge to revisit this one, but I hadn’t done a portrait practise for a couple of days, so I decided on her.
The original drawing was done using graphite, and today’s sketch is using my current practise of caput mortuum and one of my scratchy brushes.
It was a quick, loose sketch, and not really looking for a great outcome, but I like the way one reference can inspire different versions.
