Fitting It All In

I decided not to completely obliterate the early scratchings of this one, and just added more layers, and it is looking a lot better than yesterday.

It’s weird being back in the studio after nine days with only a corner of someone else’s dining table. It’s almost like starting at the beginning again.

I got lots of little jobs done that were kind of just reclaiming my space, and I prepped more of these wee canvases. I had some paint left on the palette, so I gave this reference a go, and I quite like the effect of this one. The values need more of a push, but it’s an interesting little canvas, to me.

I saw a really cool little snippet from an artist on Instagram yesterday. She had posted a photo of a work-in-progress the previous day, and gotten a lot of comments telling her not to do another thing, it was finished. Yesterday she responded to that telling people not to say this to artists, and I just really loved the way she handled the parasocial overstepping of boundaries, and reminding her audience that her art is about her process, not their attachment.

Loved it, and food for thought.

I think this is Day 13 of the 100 Day Project, and I’m still going.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
