Preparing for a new challenge

I spent some more time with this canvas today, pushing and pulling and sometimes immediately spraying water and wiping paint away. I get to the point that it’s good enough for me, which is all that it’s about really.

I’m reminding myself of that as I’m embarking on the 100 Day Project and planning on posting on Instagram as well as here. Instagram is such a weird platform, not at all social, and I definitely question its validity for artists these days. I’ll give it another go. I will put money on it Bluesky will be the better experience, tho.

I had a bit of fun setting this scene up for the necessary announcement posts, so I am posting it here so it doesn’t just disappear into the algorithm.

My challenge is 100 days of painting mini 6×6″ canvases. I don’t know if there will be 100 finished canvases, I’m not making that the goal, just 100 days where I pick up on of these and work on it. I’m not choosing a specific medium because that was too constricting last year. I want this to add to my practice, not become the only practice.

I’ve prepped ten of the canvas boards, and set up a folder of ideas and references, so I’m ready to go tomorrow. I love the beginning of these things, so many possibilities.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
