Up North

River Ness

Waking at 4:45am to get ready and down to the train station for the first train out seems like a long time ago.

Three trains and we arrived in Inverness mid-morning to, surprisingly, no rain. The forecast was wonderfully wrong.

We took the opportunity to go for a walk, since we don’t know how the weather is going to be for the rest of the week, but there are snow warnings, so our luck might not hold.

We headed away from the centre to the river, and went down one side of the river, saying hello to ALL the dogs, and crossed to wander back up through the Ness Islands, which is just a magical little spot. So many lovely trees to make friends with.

We had a bit of a veg afternoon because we were quite tired, then a lovely meal.

Our hotel room has a view of Leakey’s Bookshop, so I’m very tickled by that.

I haven’t done much art, but did a bit of figure drawing in graphite in a small sketchbook:

Nothing sensational, but fitting it into a travel day is always a win.

Filling the well.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
