Small Canvas Sketch

I have been looking, but it seems there is no way for me to block nasty little possibly bots who are lurking around this blog, apparently scraping my art for someone else’s benefit. I’m on the inexpensive tier with WordPress, which doesn’t give much in the way of features, and I guess that’s just what we risk by posting art online.

I use royalty free references from sites like Unsplash, or, in the case of my favourite muse, Dinoopis, I pay for access to her image archive. I don’t understand the type of person who sees someone doing art, photography, or other creative pursuits and just thinks “how can I steal this and use it for my own benefit?”

It’s smelly.

If you’re reading, and that’s what you’re doing here, fuck you. You will always amount to nothing more than a cheap copy, you will never experience the true joy of creating.

The painting is oil on canvas board, 10×8″. I am using the oil paint leftovers from the portrait I finished yesterday, and seeing what happens. I am still playing with the idea of treating canvases with the same freedom that I have developed in sketchbooks.

Happy last day of January, it’s finally here.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
