It’s All Over

I have become mostly comfortable with putting my art up on this blog, which was one of the reasons I started the 100 Day Project in February 2024. I worked through a lot of inner critic stuff just by being disciplined in posting every day.

Today two of my paintings were delivered to an art gallery, handed to other artists, to be in situation with other people’s art, and my inner critic is having a paaaarty.

I do not think this will ever go away, and I am fine with that, I’ve learned how to use it, most of the time, to my advantage. It doesn’t matter what other people think, or if my paintings don’t sell, because the paintings are things I am proud of, and I really don’t paint with selling in mind, I think I make more interesting stuff when I’m not caught up in a finished thing.

That’s why I love painting in sketchbooks, it’s so freeing.

Speaking of sketchbooks, the above is the final page of my large A3 sketchbook, which I started at the beginning of August. I’ve really enjoyed this sketchbook, probably more than any other sketchbook, and I’m a little bit sad it’s finished. I’m also really happy, because the last few pages have been quite bouncy.

New Year New Sketchbook is something I can get behind.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
