Embracing the Ugly Stage

We’re going through an ugly stage, and that’s not a terrible thing, the hands are complex in this one, so I’m pushing and pulling.

I did browse the stretcher bars on Jackson’s, and I don’t think I’ll be building my own canvases just now. I did figure out where I got these three canvases, and it’s not an art shop, and they don’t carry art supplies all the time, so it will be a really long shot if I can get them again. The joy of stash-busting.

I decided in a moment of, well I don’t know what it was, but I decided that I definitely want three in a batch for this idea, so the pointe shoe dancer is now a ghost under two layers of gesso. The other one is prepped with a ground, and hopefully I’ll get started on both of those tomorrow.

My square canvas 12″x12″ project is approaching a deadline, and I acknowledge I am procrastinating, and it’s not even because I feel bad about the pieces, so I’ll have to do some journaling on what’s going on there.

Til the morn,

Suzanne

    The hands are amazing.
And I get the paint overs. Doint that a lot these days.
I also get the procrastination – I’m starting to think all creatives are like this.
    Keep going!
