Today was hotter than yesterday and the pollen count was high, and I am quite, quite done with it all.
The day was not a total downer, tho, as a wee box of new art supplies arrived to cheer me up. I got two more of those chonky Liquitex paint markers in quinacridone crimson and raw umber. The above horsie was sketched using the raw umber and cobalt turquoise.
I also got a couple of brushes that I thought might be a posher version of my shitty brushes. The bristles are a bit more dense, and hold paint in a different way, but I think they are already in My Favourite Supplies category. Well, one of them definitely is.

I did this in a sketchbook with the one I like best, and started to get the feel of how the paint handles.
It was just too hot and humid to stay up there for very long, tho. There have been various Main Characters on social media sneering about the UK having heat warnings this week, because apparently it isn’t very hot. This is generally from people who do things like vote for Trump, live in wooden buildings, and burn fossil fuels to power their air conditioning units.
We are not used to the heat, our buildings are made of bricks, and designed to keep heat in, we don’t have air-conditioning, and in general, unlike your average online troll, we don’t have basements in which to hide and keep cool.
Excuse the rant, we’re hot, uncomfortable and Scotland has a water shortage.
Scotland.
It has barely rained this year.
In Scotland.
But yeah, new art supplies gave me a smile.
Til the morn,
Suzanne
