I started working on the canvas drill fabric I primed the other day. It’s around 12×16″, so larger than I have been working of late. I taped it to a board and plotted the basic layout in charcoal. The only reason I did this was to have a rough idea where the face is for the collage part, to try and have a fairly smooth substrate under the area where the face will be.
I collaged on the various bits of paper, and then I got a bit wild with some muslin, and I think I may have negated the smooth face surface, but we’ll call that perimenopause, and the painting will be even more of an adventure.
I was hoping to get a bit further, but the air is quite moist today – we had rain overnight for the first time in weeks, and there’s more coming. I am not complaining that this is the reason that my collage is taking time to dry.
The texture is YUMMY.
I covered up the drawing, but it will come back.
Mon the rain.
Til the morn,
