Unbelievable

Someone explained to me today that art is little more than putting pencil to paper when a client gives instructions on what they require. The person also explained to me that all art in galleries has been commissioned, presumably in the way described above.

If ever there was an argument for teaching the Humanities in schools, it’s right there.

Wild.

Today’s portrait was painted using a previous painting as a reference, and I stood at a distance from the easel to keep it loose and gestural.

No-one commissioned me, or prompted me, I just expressed myself.

People are wild.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
