Duck Face

morning sketch ~ twenty minutes

I have posted most of my morning sketches, but it’s a practise I am enjoying. I confess they are not always a morning sketch, but they are always the first art that I do. They are a great way to warm up and get the synapses sparking.

I have come to a few conclusions today, and the main one is that I am a bit bored of my 100 Day Project. It’s not that I don’t want to complete it, it’s just that I want to do different things with it.

Since I make the rules, I’m loosening them up a bit from tomorrow onwards, so I may spend longer than an hour on a portrait, or I may use a larger surface. It will still be oil portraits and alla prima, but I think I want to widen the challenge a bit.

Anyway, here’s today’s painting. She’s a bit pissed off, I think, which is just not like me at all 😇😎

oil on paper, 6×8″

I love the way so many options can spring from one reference.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
