Today’s big challenge was getting this done before the arrival of a dog. He belongs to my folks, and this is his first sleepover since they adopted him. I didn’t think it was feasible to do timed oil painting with a somewhat high-energy dog, so I got up early and did not procrastinate, and got my twenty-minute sketch practise and this painting done.
There’s a lesson in there for me about starting early, versus procrastination.
In the end I gave this one forty five minutes instead of an hour, because that was just how it rolled, and I needed to get the brush cleaning done, and windows open for a while before the arrival of the small tornado.
I am a little conflicted with these paintings because I don’t feel they are my style, but I am reminding myself this is just a practise, and doing alla prima paintings without making mud is all I need to be achieving just now.
I saw something about Krasnov’s approval ratings sinking, so I’m going to go and see if that’s true.
Til the morn,
Suzanne
