Prepping and Collage

The other thing I worked on today isn’t looking very interesting for a photo so far, but it is going well.

I’m trying out Jackson’s Oil Paper, which comes in a gummed block. I started out by priming the top sheet with matt medium, then a couple of coats of gesso. By the time all the individual layers were dry, there was time to get the basic sketch onto the page, but it’s quite a light, minimal sketch, which doesn’t look like anything…

So, the photo is a page from my little collage book I am working in just now, working on using some of the collage fodder I have stashed, and finding it’s a useful practise for getting started when I don’t know where to start.

Til the morn,

Suzanne

PS Don’t believe a word that cretin Vance is saying about Scotland, he’s utterly clueless.
