Yellow Rejected

Lots of painting today. I revisited the limited palette from yesterday, but I added in a yellow for some skin tones. I mixed up a mid tone and then held my palette knife up in front of the painting and recoiled in horror 🙂

I scraped that off my palette and put it on a gel plate and returned to the cool palette I started with.

I mostly worked on fixing the arm and shoulder, and fixing the shirt before going back into the skin tones and working on the basic shapes of the shadows.

I had a lot of fun with this today, and honestly the things that are happening in the world are a LOT, so it’s important to take some time to do something that feeds the soul. That’s a privilege a lot of people don’t have.
