I am still avoiding the watercolour on brown paper version, to the point it’s becoming a running joke in this house. I am having fun doing multiple versions of the same reference tho, and today I have sized it up to a 16×20″ canvas.
The canvas had a sketch of a figure pose on it, but I put some gesso over that and then a ground of quinacridone red, which is just delicious. I mixed things up by using a large, chunky, jumbo acrylic marker in purple for the sketch.
I have done a bit more than the stage this photo is at, but I wanted to show what the marker sketch looked like, because it’s loose and fun.
