I’m still working with this reference, trying to decide how much I want to put into my painting. I really like the pose, and I like challenging myself with hands, so I think I might stick with the whole image, rather than crop it.
It occurs to me this might be a form of procrastination, but it’s producing work, rather than making up tasks for myself, or doom-scrolling.
She looks a bit scunnert the day, and yesterday’s expression was more appealing, so I will set them both up as references tomorrow.
I was also having some fun today making texture plates for the gel plate. I used some old mount board and modelling paste and stencils. There are three that are successful, and five that I am leaving to dry out overnight because I’m not sure they are good, and if it comes to a choice, I’ll be saving the stencil and binning the failed plates. Fingers crossed.
I did a few other bits and bobs of painting, and had quite a good and varied session today.
