This was looking absolutely terrible to me, I mean leaving the room in a flounce considering pouring gesso over it terrible. I’m invested in doing this one well.
I came back and mixed a close-to black and used the palette knife to put it on the background, and it immediately looked much better, and I had a little laugh at myself.
I didn’t really touch the eyes or lips today, just worked on the skin tones, had a little strop, did the background, and did some blocking in with the hair.
I kept having to remind myself that these aren’t natural skin tones, they are Drag Queen contours and thick make-up, and this isn’t real hair, it’s a wig, so trust what you see.
