Live Sitter

Oil painting again today, this time a bit of fun with a live sitter. Forty-five minutes, and if you turn it upside down, there’s even a likeness. It’s a long time since I’ve done any figure drawing or portraiture with a live sitter, and you can’t tape them to the drawing board in the usual place, and they don’t sit still.

😀

It occurred to me when I was painting that I need to try my shitty round brushes for oil portrait sketching, but I don’t mix my brushes, so I’ll have to pilfer some and make them just for oil. Pilfer from my own stash, I mean.

Oh, I tried a different palette today, with the cooler alizarin crimson for the red, just in case I haven’t scribbled that down somewhere.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
