Art Exhibition and Collage Fodder

I have had a great day today. I decided to use up the paint in the stay-wet palette leftover from my recent mixing exercise to make collage fodder. I pulled out a couple of small gel plates and got stuck in.

I have to say it was the most fun because I finally have enough table space that’s all on the same level, and in the same room, to spread out and not feel constricted.

The colours in the palette aren’t exactly the same as the pots I mixed yesterday, but they coordinate because they are all made from the same two colours. I made so many pages of collage fodder, I don’t have room to show them all off in one post, but here’s a selection of my favourites.

In other news, I finally got to see my portrait of Gisèle Pélicot in the Royal Scottish Academy Gallery in Edinburgh, included in the 126th SSA Annual Exhibition, in the small works section.

It’s a nice feeling to see this, and also to acknowledge to myself that my painting does not look out of place amongst all that art. A good thing to remember on days when my inner critic is gein it laldy. That she was in the gallery during the #16DaysOfActivism is extra meaningful to me.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
