The Pixies Were Here

I spent today doing lots of surface prep, which means there’s basically some substrates with gesso, medium, or tinted gesso, which aren’t very exciting to post on a blog.

I also spent a considerable chunk of time hunting for a small stash of collage pieces that I mislaid at some point. They’re for a specific project, and the longer they were IN A SAFE PLACE the more important they became to the project. I mean I have piles of magazines and piles of collage fodder that I could use instead, but it became imperative that I find those specific pieces.

I think today is the third or fourth time I have hunted for them, and I was about to give in and consider the notion that I had somehow thrown out an art supply, and then I found them in a place I am convinced I had already looked.

I must have forgotten to leave a biscuit for the pixies…

I eventually got down to some painting for a Let’s Face It class. I am in mad catch-up mode for classes I either haven’t started, or haven’t finished, which is just classic Suzanne really. I started out doing really well with a weekly finished piece, but lost that rhythm somewhere along the way.

This is the first layer blocked in, and the whole thing needs to dry, expecially the collage at the bottom, so that’s it for today.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
