I have to laugh at myself. A while back I made myself a stay-wet palette, and even wrote a blog about it. I tested it out and decided it would work perfectly for doing larger paintings where I need to save mixed colours for the next day.
Yesterday I worked on this painting, and I mixed my colours on the silicone mat I use as a palette. I then used up the leftover paint on a wonky face, and didn’t save any paint at all.
I gave myself a fantastic case of procrastination for this morning, fretting over whether I could mix colours again. So I set up the stay-wet palette and gied ma heid a wobble, and got stuck in.
She’s not finished yet, I will be giving her one more session tomorrow, but so far I am very pleased with what I’ve done. I need to get out of my own way more often.
