Six In One

Yesterday I used a background that had been done quite a while back as the substrate from my painting. Late in the evening I pulled a few more bits and pieces from my rack of part-done work to see if anything else called to me to be finished.

One of things I pulled out was a pair of small canvases, one which looks almost done (top right) and another which had just some background paint on it. I remembered the idea I had of painting a set of six of these with a similar theme, but all different. Another abandoned idea, I have a lot of those.

I prepped the other four canvases with gesso, and set them all up on my table to prompt me to start on them today, and here’s where they are now…

I’m using my gel plate to monoprint a face design I drew on an old book page. I use this little face a lot in this way, in sketchbooks and journals, and my idea is to see if I like making a set that isn’t a set.

That quinacridone red (top centre) is just divine.

Til the morn,

Suzanne
