I spent a lot of time sorting and tidying in my art spaces today, and it’s a good way to get in amongst things and rediscover supplies that haven’t been touched for a while. It’s definitely part of the creative process, because it’s all about setting the scene for intuitive creativity.
One thing I came across is a fairly recent purchase that I haven’t tried out yet, Art Graf Kneadable Drawing Putty. Now I haven’t fully gotten to grips with it, haven’t tried kneading it for example, I just took a chunk out of the packet and did the above. The paper had some acrylic from cleaning my brayer.
So far I like it. I want the whole thing in my hand, though, so I’m going to knead it into a big chonk of a thing. It’s a really lovely feel, and lends itself to big, gestural marks. It’s also water soluble, so there’s extra fun to be had with a spray bottle – right up my street.
Til the morn,
Suzanne
