An artist I admire posted a photo of her studio on social media the other day, and it was absolutely stappit fu with finished paintings. Colour everywhere, lots of different sizes and substrates. It looked absolutely amazing.
I looked at that photo and saw goals – having a body of work that overwhelms my space, being so in my groove that paintings stack up… and I’m feeling so excited with the space I have to paint in now, I didn’t let comparison be the thief of joy, I let it inspire me.
Today I had one of those lovely creative sessions working on lots of different things, and relishing my new workbench, and the way it has transformed my space. After 8½ years I feel like I have finally turned my studio room into a workable space.
Here’s something new I started on 9×12 140lb paper…
