Rotating sketchbooks as pages dry is one of my favourite ways of working, although sometimes the day doesn’t seem to have much to show for it.
Both my junk journal and my Seawhite A5 are books where I do random layers here and there throughout the book, and at some point a page or spread will reach the stage where something else can happen there to resolve it. The junk journal is further on in that respect, but the Seawhite is starting to shape up nicely.
I also worked in my tiny Talens sketchbook that I use for fineliner sketching, as I haven’t been picking that one up more recently.
The other book I worked in was my A4 casebound that is a really cheap unbranded thing that has fairly unexciting paper. I am really enjoying this book as there is absolutely no perfectionism warranted in a book like this.
I got a pack of very cheap brushes, and I mean CHEAP. Twelve crappy brushes for £7. They are mishapen and crappy and delicious, and I have been trying them out mostly in this sketchbook. The idea is to get loose, really loose, and I’m enjoying that.
Today I was sketching faces from one of my sketchbooks, and also my imagination, and just having fun, which should be exactly what a Sunday is for.

Til the morn,
Suzanne
