100 Day Project Day 95
I confess I relished the rain as it pished doon on Rishi as he stood at the lectern in Dowing Street trying to big up his shite party while announcing the worst kept secret of the day, that a General Election is called for July 4th.
Someone was at the end of Downing Street blasting Things Can Only Get Better as he tried to make us believe in him, and it was comedy gold.
What’s my hot take?
Can they really get better? Keir Starmer isn’t actually better, he’s just a different face seemingly making policy out of that awful children’s author’s tweets.
Unfortunately Scotland doesn’t look set to carry the SNP over the next hurdle, which is probably just natural after so many years of dominance. The timing, tho, when the Census results just published tell us that 65% of Scots now see ourselves as Scottish only in terms of national identity. A second indyref would likely deliver us from successive London idealogues in a minute, which is precisley why London won’t allow one to take place.
Of course things look worse for the SNP since the English Tories just called an election for a date when Scottish schools are on summer recess, and many families will be away on holiday. Students at colleges and universities will also be on recess, so there will be a lot of people who just won’t vote.
I can’t imagine why a unionist party would want to choose a date that is likely to disenfranchise Scottish voters.
Political shenanigans aside, I think I have finished my drawing. I am not sure, and will come back tomorrow and decide if it needs more. I’m amused that I’m working on this particular facial expression on this particular political day.

Eyes on Jenin,
Til the morn,
Suzanne
