100 Day Project Day 94
I had this idea that I was going to spend the last ten days of the 100 Day Project focussing on filling the last portion of the sketchbook I have mostly been working in.
Almost as soon as I decided that was what I was going to focus on, I veered off in another direction, and this is something I have noticed in the way I work since I have been writing down my process in this blog. I’ve decided it’s not really something that needs to be fixed, it just is what it is.
The 100 Day thing feels like an arbitrary number at this point, because I feel the habit of daily logging my art process is just part of my process now. It will be interesting to see how that holds up after the 100 days have been conquered.
Today’s creativity included some work in my garden weeding. I am looking forward to some of the plants I put in last year giving their first display, I’m hoping a few of them seed everywhere, because we have lots of space to fill, and free plants are great.
I spent the afternoon with a drawing which is this week’s Let’s Face It class. I am enjoying the drawing, which is surprising since it’s qiute a complex subject. A few months ago I would have baulked at this one, but the dailt practise is paying off.

She’s got a long way to go, but I am enjoying the way she is going. The background is Derwent XL Charcoal with water and isopropyl alcohol, and the drawing is done with a Sanguine Medicis Conté pencil, and it’s such a beautiful colour.
A nice reminder to me how much I have always loved Conté pencils and crayons, and that I should pull them out more often. Note to self.
Til the morn,
Suzanne
