100 Day Project Day 70
Things are not very easy at the moment here in Bizzum Towers. Our government (Scottish) is in the process of collapsing, and a bunch of right wing bangers are eyeing power, and some of them are within the party clinging to power, and some are not.
It is very unsettling, and if it all goes down the pan, we will be left in a position where there is no-one in a significant position of power in the UK who is actively opposing the genocide in Palestine.
To put not too fine a point on it, I am fucking raging.
I am not alone.
I was very nearly at the point of posting a photo of a sketchbook page that simply had a layer of gesso, because that is all I managed to do as I was glued to socials discussing the chaos.
I reminded myself this project, which I think has become a habit and lifestyle choice, is significantly motivated by mental health self-care.
So I squeezed out some delicious violet acrylic paint and set up the figure reference I have an eye on using for a painting, andf got down to some gestural marks, and sketching.

I like choosing challenging poses and trying to make sense of them, and I think this one is going to be a series of rough sketches until I feel like I can capture it the way I want for the painting.
I am still raging, but I made art today, so there’s that.
Til the morn,
Suzanne
