100 Day Project Day 64
There’s a lovely post circulating the socials at the moment that tells the story of a studio who sacked artists and hired ai prompters to do the job instead, and they couldn’t do it. Their prompts didn’t generate quality work, and when they were sent back to make changes, of course the machines couldn’t do it, because that’s not how they generate. Some of the “art” (snort) being produced contained what was clearly someone’s scraped holiday snaps.
I enjoyed reading about the failure, and the waste of time and money so much, I read it twice.
It really shouldn’t have got this far, tho.
One thing the tech bro shitshow that is ai definitely can’t replicate is collage and mixed media layers. There’s just no way to make the texture and the nuances with a not very clever computer.
I, however, can do layering and collage and mixed media until the cows come home, and I’ve had a fun day doing absolutely that. I don’t even know how many layers there are, and it’s nowehere near done.

This is how it’s looking so far. The prompt called for a thre-quarter selfie with a hat, and a hand visible. I chose my snake headdress that I made some twenty odd years ago, that honestly I don’t get a chance to wear very often, and well you can see that I included my hand.
There’s a LOT still to do here, but I am enjoying this so much, even if selfies aren’t my thing.
Fuck the Patriarchy,
Til the morn,
Suzanne
