100 Day Project Day 57
A little thing I have been doing recently is using my own landscape photos as references in my sketchbook practise. Sometimes it’s an exercise in colour and tonal value, and sometimes it’s about observing perspective, and sometimes it’s about rejecting parts of what is in the photo to make a better overall image.
Here’s an example of one of these studies using one of my photographs from the beach.

The photo is it’s own thing, but when I started translating it on the page, it started becoming something else, and there is a bunch of scribbled notes and ideas that have some potential for later.
Til the morn,
Suzanne
