Painting from my own painting

100 Day Project Day 39

A fun way to practise is copying your own work, it’s a good exercise in trying to recreate colours, and shapes, and it’s also interesting to see where the energy of a piece goes on the next take.

I was playing with this idea today by taking a recent face I had painted, clipping it to my board, and seeing what happened when I tried to copy it.

I really like the result, and there’s enough room on the paper to have another go tomorrow.

I used fairly thin cartridge paper with a layer of gesso, so the paintings can easily be used for collage into another piece.

Til the morn
