Productive Play

100 Day Project Day 31

Today I have been switching between several projects, anjoying being in The Zone, and tryingt to ignore whatever my perimenopausal body is throwing at me today. I’m definitely not going to be officially at menopause in March next year, ho hum.

I was playing with coloured pencils doing some mini portraits in a sketchbook, and not really loving what was happening. Then I did one side of the hair on one of them in a continuous line of spirals, and absolutely fell in love with the piece. I haven’t decided what I’m doing next with it, but that’s the fun of getting into the swing with several different pieces at once, you can set one aside when it needs a rest, and get going with something else.

Another piece I worked on is much more in my comfort zone with lots of layers and texture going on. I love trying to emulate rust with paint, or aged copper, that sort of thing. Getting really messy, then pulling a face out of the chaos. I have her on the page, but only just, and I am looking forward to seeing where she goes.

Lots of productivity today, most likely because nothing is Nearly Finished, which is the point where procrastination likes to get its claws into everything.

Ceasefire Now,

Til the morn

Suzanne
