100 Day Project Day 30
I finished a class painting. Woo Hoo. It’s for the Let’s Face It course I am doing, and I am so pleased to have completed Week 8 on the day the Week 12 class drops. Ha. I lost the momemtum a bit around mid February, and I think that’s just a typical start of year thing.
I really enjoyed this class, even though I am not a watercolourist by any stretch of the imagination. I love watercolours, I collect them *grin* and I use them in mixed media, which this painting is, but I am not well-practised in controlling them well. This class required a bit more of that, and I enjoyed the challenge.
The background that I made was way more intense than required, so I went with colouring the figures more intensely, and I think the effect works. The look I aimed for was a damaged old photo that has been over-tinted.
The reference is an 1800s lesbian couple, and, in keeping with much of history, the women are anonymous. They’re lovely tho.

A less exciting photo, but exciting in terms of potential, is the arrival of a box of screw-top pots that I ordered. There are fifty in total, so hopefully I won’t be stealing any more food pots from the kitchen for storing mixed paint.

Can’t wait to get started on filling them.
Til the morn,
Ceasefire Now,
Suzanne.
